Message: Concrete pipe support blocks can settle in a wet trench, causing pipe to misalign.

This Dam was rehabilitated by replacing the last section of pipe with RCP. The pipe was set on support blocks and bedded with high-slump concrete. The trench was not dewatered adequately, causing the pipe support blocks to sink under the weight of the 48-inch concrete pipe. As the pipe settled, joints became misaligned.
